Earthquake in Haiti
|
 |
|
Please note that NAVSAR does not organize or deploy search and rescue teams, nor collect donations to support emergency operations. From a Search and Rescue standpoint, all assets being deployed are being done through the existing FEMA US&R system and SUSAR teams.
If you would like to help, we recommend making a donation to the American Red Cross to support response and recovery efforts in Haiti. You can do so easily via your mobile phone to donate $10 by texting “HAITI” to 9-0-9-9-9. Visit redcross.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.

What is NAVSAR?
-
NAVSAR was born from the need of volunteer search and rescue teams to have ongoing support. With strength in numbers, teams can obtain better pricing on equipment and supplies. Additionally by creating a central point to obtain public, private, and foundation grants and gifts, NAVSAR aspires to provide teams with the financial ability to secure needed training and equipment.
-
An organization of volunteers and managed by volunteers, 100% of funds donated to NAVSAR are used to benefit search and rescue teams.
NAVSAR members will benefit in several ways;
-
Financial aid for training, education, and equipment expenses.
-
Access to a directory of grants (specific to SAR needs!).
-
Grant writing assistance for teams.
-
Fundraising tools and ideas.
-
Directory of training and certification opportunities.
-
Discounted "wholesale cost" equipment and supplies for members.
-
Group buying power on large purchases.
-
Pre-negotiated discounts on services.
-
FREE full featured websites for teams.
-
We also hope to develop "Wish Lists" for training, equipment, and supplies and through fundraising and grants and provide these items free as funds allow.
