Bylaws added! - Friday, February 15, 2008
In keeping with the Association's philosophy of a transparent organization, the Bylaws have been added to the Corporate Documents page under the About Us tab on the top menu.  All other Association tax, legal, financial, and goverance documents can also be found under the About Us menu to members while logged in.

Welcome to the National Association of Volunteer Search And Rescue Teams, Inc.  (NAVSAR).

After nearly two years of working to lay the foundation, NAVSAR is ready to begin accepting members and building a successful Association solely dedicated to the support of volunteer search and rescue teams in the United States.  Please click here to view the membership packages available with benefits available.

During the membership drive we are offering reduced rates for membership good for the first year.  Team Memberships also get a FREE premium web hosting account using the DotNetNuke platform to provide even the most novice website builder with the tools to create a professional website complete with secure member areas and many more options.  Web hosting accounts are also available without NAVSAR membership to any SAR team for rates that are 50% of what you might pay through any other web host service!

The National Association of Volunteer Search and Rescue Teams, Inc. (NAVSAR) is committed to providing financial and material support to the nation’s volunteer search and rescue teams.  The volunteer organizations assist their local communities to help locate missing persons and aid in times of disaster.  Because these organizations are largely non-governmental organizations, they receive no government funding and rely on donations and support from their communities to provide their essential services.

    Ravalli County Search and Rescue brush up on skills (KPAX Missoula)
    This week, Search and Rescue responders took several days to brush up on their skills.  

    Rescue Teams Launch Major Search Effort For Boy Who Fell in Jordan River (FOX 13 Utah)
    Rescue teams launched a major one day search effort on Thursday for 8-year-old boy who fell in a Jordan River canal earlier this month. Crews expanded their search to 14 miles total with a heavy emphasis on the first six miles from the pipe that experts believe caused the boy, Trejan Fite, to fall in the river two weeks ago. Now that the weather is better, the search can continue uninterrupted ...
